Project Commitment Groups

Overview

To track the progress of the Generation project, individual generating units built as part of a generation project are grouped under the Project Commitment Groups tab for aggregation purposes.

Project Commitment Groups are relevant during the project life-cycle only. Once the group of Generating Units See Relevant Rules or Procedures is commissioned and approved for commercial use, they are no longer required or relevant.

When you create a new Project Commitment group, you complete a series of questions related to the project, looking at the specific categories below.

Category

Criteria

Land

The project proponent has purchased/settled/acquired (or commenced legal proceedings to purchase/settle/acquire) land for the construction of the project

Contracts

Contracts for the supply and construction of major plant or equipment components (such as Generating Units, turbines, boilers, transmission towers, conductors, and terminal station equipment) are finalised and executed, including any provisions for cancellation payments

Planning

The proponent has obtained all required planning consents, construction approvals, connection contracts (including Generator Performance Standard agreement from AEMO in the form of the 534A letter), and licences, including completion and acceptance of any necessary environmental impact statements

Finance

The financing arrangements for the proposal, including any debt plans are concluded and contracts executed

Construction

Construction of the proposal must have commenced or a firm commencement date is set

Commercial use date for full operation is set
